On September 27, we are organizing a field trip under the title Entre Viñas, a one-day wine tourism experience that will allow participants to learn about the production of vineyard-specific wines.
The activity will be led by Jorge Mazaira and will include a tour of vineyards within the Valdeorras Designation of Origin. The itinerary includes visits to four plots, where participants can taste on-site the wines produced from each vineyard:
- Plot of the Godeval winery (O Barco), with a tasting of the Revival wine.
- Plot of the Santa Marta winery (Vilamartín), with a tasting of the Fardelas wine.
- Plot of the Terriña winery (Petín), with a tasting of the Merezao wine.
- Plot of the A Coroa winery (A Rúa), with a tasting of the Ladeira Vella wine.
The program is complemented by a paired lunch at Hotel Calzada, where participants can taste different wines from the wineries associated with the Valdeorras Wine Route.
The day will run approximately from 11:00 to 19:30, with minibus departures from the bus stations of A Rúa and O Barco. The registration fee is 50 euros, which includes transportation, tastings, and lunch.
In case of bad weather, the organizers have planned an alternative where the vineyard visits will be replaced with a tour of a winery, explaining the distinct vinification of each plot and offering tastings of musts or wines in fermentation.
With this proposal, the Valdeorras Wine Route strengthens its commitment to showcasing the unique character of its wines and the region’s viticultural richness, offering visitors and wine tourism enthusiasts an authentic and educational experience in direct contact with the vineyards.
